10 Day Cairo, Nile Cruise and Alexandria by Flight
This private 10-day program pairs Cairo’s iconic monuments with a relaxed four-night cruise on the Nile between Aswan and Luxor, plus a coastal day trip to Alexandria. Travel with an English-speaking Egyptologist, enjoy organized transfers and domestic flights, and stay in the selected Cairo hotel and a 5-star Nile vessel. The itinerary covers the Giza plateau, Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Aswan’s highlights including Philae, the West and East banks of Luxor, and the main sites of Alexandria, with most entrance fees, domestic flights, and many meals included.

Itinerary
Day Day 1 — Arrival in Cairo
Arrive at Cairo International Airport where a representative and driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Check-in assistance is provided and your tour manager will review the itinerary and confirm pick-up times for the coming days. Enjoy a complimentary welcome drink and the rest of the day at leisure.

Day Day 2 — Giza Pyramids, Saqqara and Memphis
After breakfast meet your Egyptologist to visit the Giza plateau, home to the three great pyramids and the Sphinx. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon explore Saqqara to see Djoser’s Step Pyramid, then continue to the open-air museum at Memphis to view its ancient monuments before returning to your Cairo hotel.

Day Day 3 — Grand Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Khan El Khalili
This morning visit the Grand Egyptian Museum near the pyramids to view its extensive collections, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. After a local lunch, head to Old Cairo to see the Citadel of Salah El-Din and stroll through the historic Khan El Khalili bazaar. Return to your hotel for the night.

Day Day 4 — Fly to Aswan — Aswan Sights — Embark Nile Cruise
Check out after breakfast and transfer to Cairo airport for the domestic flight to Aswan. On arrival tour the High Dam, then take a motorboat to Agilika Island to visit the Temple of Philae. See the Unfinished Obelisk at the granite quarries before boarding your Nile cruise for check-in and overnight.

Day Day 5 — Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples
Breakfast on board precedes a stop at Kom Ombo to visit its twin temple complex. Return to the ship for lunch as you continue sailing. In the afternoon transfer to Edfu for a visit to the well-preserved Temple of Horus; return to the cruise for dinner and an onboard Egyptian folkloric show.

Day Day 6 — Luxor West Bank — Valley of the Kings and Deir el-Bahari
After breakfast on board, disembark to explore the West Bank of Luxor: the Valley of the Kings, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight aboard.

Day Day 7 — Luxor East Bank — Karnak and Luxor Temples — Fly to Cairo
Check out after an early breakfast. Visit the Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple on the East Bank. Transfer to Luxor airport for a domestic flight back to Cairo. On arrival you will be transferred to your Cairo hotel for overnight.

Day Day 8 — Day Trip to Alexandria
Depart Cairo after breakfast for a full-day excursion to Alexandria. Visit the modern Library of Alexandria, the Roman Amphitheatre, Pompey’s Pillar, and view the Qaitbay Citadel from the outside. Lunch is included at a local restaurant before returning to Cairo for the night.

Day Day 9 — Islamic and Coptic Cairo
Spend the day exploring Islamic Cairo and the Coptic quarter. Visits include Ahmed Ibn Tulun Mosque, the Mosque of Sultan Hassan, and El-Refa’i. After lunch explore the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius (Abu Serga), and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Return to your hotel in the evening.

Day Day 10 — Departure from Cairo
After breakfast check out and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your onward departure. A representative will assist with your airport transfer.
