Itinerary

Day Day 1 — Welcome to Aswan – Embarkation & Aswan Highlights

Embark the ship before lunch and settle into your cabin. In the afternoon visit the Aswan High Dam to view its scale and Lake Nasser, then continue by motorboat to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island, the island sanctuary dedicated to Isis. A visit to the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries concludes the day. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight in Aswan.

Day Day 2 — Optional Abu Simbel — Sail to Kom Ombo

Early-morning optional excursion to Abu Simbel (road or flight at extra cost) to see the rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. After returning to the boat begin sailing north toward Kom Ombo and visit the twin temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus, with its medical reliefs and a small collection of mummified crocodiles. Dinner and overnight aboard as the cruise continues toward Edfu.

Day Day 3 — Edfu by Carriage – Sail to Luxor

Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu by traditional horse-drawn carriage. The remarkably well-preserved complex recounts the myth of Horus and Seth in its carved walls. Return to the vessel for lunch and sail to Luxor. In the afternoon explore the Karnak Temple complex with its colossal statues and hypostyle hall, then visit Luxor Temple as it is illuminated at dusk. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.

Day Day 4 — Valley of the Kings & West Bank — Disembarkation

After breakfast check out of your cabin and head to Luxor’s West Bank. Visit the Valley of the Kings where three royal tombs are included (optional extra for entry to Tutankhamun’s tomb), then see the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut carved into the cliffs and the Colossi of Memnon. Disembarkation follows these visits.

Day Day 1 — Welcome to Luxor – Karnak & Luxor Temples (5-day program)

Embark before lunch and make yourself comfortable on board. In the afternoon visit the Karnak Temple complex, walking among obelisks, grand pylons and the Hypostyle Hall, then continue to Luxor Temple in the heart of the city. Return to the ship for tea, dinner and an overnight stay in Luxor.

Day Day 2 — West Bank of Luxor – Valley of the Kings & Sail to Esna

Visit the Valley of the Kings with access to three tombs (optional extra entrances available), the terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch rejoin the cruise and begin sailing toward Esna, passing local villages and farmland before transiting Esna Lock. Dinner and overnight as the boat continues toward Edfu. An optional early-morning hot-air balloon flight over Luxor is available (extra cost).

Day Day 3 — Edfu & Kom Ombo – Temples of Horus and Sobek

Continue upriver to Edfu and reach the Temple of Horus, typically approached by horse-drawn carriage. Later sail toward Kom Ombo and visit the unusual double temple honoring Sobek and Horus, noted for its reliefs and crocodile finds. Overnight while the boat heads toward Aswan.

Day Day 4 — Aswan Sights – High Dam, Philae & Unfinished Obelisk

Arrive in Aswan for visits that may include the Aswan High Dam with views over Lake Nasser, the island sanctuary of Philae reached by motorboat, and the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient quarry. Options such as a Nubian village visit can be arranged locally. Overnight in Aswan.

Day Day 5 — Disembarkation / Optional Abu Simbel

Depending on your selected program and schedule, disembark in Aswan. Guests who wish can arrange an optional excursion to Abu Simbel from Aswan (extra cost, by road or flight).
