M/S Al Hambra

Launched in April 2010, M/S Al Hambra was built to raise the standard of Nile cruising. The ship offers exceptionally large standard suites — 31 m² with 6 m² bathrooms — and a rare two-level spa that includes an indoor relaxation pool. Additional highlights include wheelchair-accessible suites on the Al Sultan deck, a panoramic elevator, steam and Turkish baths, a gym, jacuzzi and dedicated massage rooms. The vessel operates itineraries along the Luxor → Edfu → Kom Ombo → Aswan corridor with multiple program lengths.

Itinerary

Day Day 1 — Welcome to Aswan – Embarkation and Afternoon Sights

Embarkation before lunch and time to settle into your cabin. Afternoon visits include the Aswan High Dam — the modern structure that regulates the Nile and created Lake Nasser — and Philae Temple, reached by motorboat on Agilkia Island. The afternoon program also includes a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk and the ancient granite quarries. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Day Day 2 — Optional Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo

Early morning optional excursion to Abu Simbel (by road or flight, extra cost) to see the twin rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. Return to the vessel and begin sailing north toward Kom Ombo. Afternoon visit to the twin temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horus, with its medical reliefs and small crocodile museum. Dinner and overnight while sailing toward Edfu.

Day Day 3 — Edfu Temple and Luxor East Bank

Morning transfer by horse carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s most intact temples, then return to the boat and sail to Luxor. Afternoon and evening visits on Luxor’s East Bank include Karnak Temple — the vast precinct of Amun-Re with its hypostyle hall — and Luxor Temple, a city-center monument that is particularly atmospheric at dusk. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.

Day Day 4 — Luxor West Bank – Royal Necropolis and Disembarkation

After breakfast and check-out, explore Luxor’s West Bank. Highlights include the Valley of the Kings (entrance to three tombs included; optional entry to Tutankhamun’s tomb at extra cost), the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. End of cruise arrangements follow the morning program.

Day Day 1 — Welcome to Luxor – Karnak & Luxor Temples

Embarkation before lunch, welcome on board and time to settle into your cabin. Afternoon visits to the Karnak Temple Complex — including the Avenue of Sphinxes and the Hypostyle Hall — followed by Luxor Temple. Return to the cruise for tea, dinner and an overnight in Luxor.

Day Day 2 — Luxor West Bank – Valley of the Kings and Sail to Esna

Morning exploration of the West Bank with visits to three royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings (optional extra-cost entrances such as Tutankhamun or Seti I), Queen Hatshepsut’s temple at Deir el-Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship for lunch, then sail south toward Esna and experience the passage through the Esna Lock. Dinner and overnight while continuing toward Edfu. Optional early-morning hot air balloon flights over Luxor are available at extra cost.

Day Day 3 — Edfu and Kom Ombo

Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, reached by traditional horse carriage, followed by sailing toward Kom Ombo. Afternoon visit to Kom Ombo’s unique double temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus, including the small local museum with mummified crocodiles. Evening sailing toward Aswan with dinner and overnight on board.

Day Day 4 — Aswan – High Dam, Philae and Quarry Sites

Morning visits around Aswan include the High Dam with views over Lake Nasser, Philae Temple on Agilkia Island reached by boat, and the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries. Optional activities from Aswan include Nubian village visits and the Abu Simbel excursion (extra cost). Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Day Day 5 — Disembarkation

Breakfast on board and disembarkation. End of cruise arrangements and transfers as required.
